Can you find an area to explain this to the dummies out here? (Myself being one of them) We'd love to try this, but are oldies but goodies that really want something like this to work for them. Help! (And I DO mean dummies....we're from the manual typewriter era!) Thank you for any and all help.

Good stuff. I noticed that the necessary 'publish_actions' permission only showed up in the auth dialog if I categorized my app as a "game". Is this temporary during the beta?

Thanks for sharing, Bret! At KeepRecipes.com, we have exactly those actions for recipes, "Keep" and "Cook". We'll be integrating the 15,000 recipes our members have kept and cooked, as well as our iPhone app, with the FB timeline in the coming weeks.

This is just because we are in the Developer Beta period of Timeline. All of this will work once Timeline rolls out more broadly in a couple of weeks.

I've been running http://www.recipebinder.co.uk on Facebook http://app.facebook.com/rec... since the FB platform was launched in 2007. I was certainly surprised to see the example, to date there hasn't been that much competition in the recipe space on FB. My app is very design poor (I'm a dev, not a designer, what can I say), but is functionally sound. It even integrates with FB Pages. Anyway, thought I'd say hi, I'm sure there's room for both of us with 800 million people to go at :o)

I have two questions, 1) I created a timeline app and posted to the timeline.. but it was not visible from other accounts(having timeline enabled) and 2) I used your app, but couldn't find anything posted to my timeline! Any limitations?

Is there a way that i can replace the <fb:add-to-timeline></fb:add-to-timeline> XFBML tag with a javascript call or can i in someway get notified that this user has successfully added to timeline and vice versa?

I have developer access and i can see the timeline in my profile. I see there was never an -> Add to Timeline process in the entire application. The only permissions when adding the app seem to be basic, offilne_access? I assume this is because of the limited roll out? Will the Oauth authentication also support the new dialog box type features?

I was losing it when you referenced recipes several times at f8. I thought maybe there was a player in the space I didn't know about. A buddy and I are launching MyFaveRecipes.com. We're we're building a social-first recipe site that is all about sharing on Facebook. http://blog.myfaverecipes.com/ We're in closed alpha now.
